He was born in Madrid and graduated in Law and Economics. His career has taken place in the public sector and also in the private one. He has been general secretary and legal responsibility for Barclays and also general secretary and head of communications at NH Hoteles. He is a member of the Spanish Court of Arbitration and the Court of Arbitration of Madrid. In the public sector he has served in the ministries of Interior and of Finance and has been Deputy Director of Legal Services at the National Securities Market Commission. He was Adviser to the Finance Minister Rodrigo Rato, worked at the Council of Public entity RED.es and Center for Technological and Industrial Development. In 2002 he was appointed General Director for Development of the Information Society of the Science and Technology Administration. Since July 2012 he is President of RTVE Corporation.
