Since 2013, Miguel is Communication and Institutional Affairs Group Director at Gestamp, a global industrial player in the automotive sector operating in over 20 markets with revenues around € 6.000 MM, over 30.000 employees and some 100 plants worldwide. He oversees lobbying, social media, crisis communications and external affairs globally for a company who serves all the major brands in the automotive industry.
Before joining Gestamp, he spent 6 years leading the communication function at Zed Group, a global company operating in +60 countries in the digital content sector (social games, mobile advertising & content, internet and animation movies).
Between 1992 and 2007, he held different senior roles at both Burson-Marsteller (Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon offices) and Weber Shandwick (where he became Chairman of WS Latin America and CEO of WS Spain and Portugal). He was recognized as a crisis management expert within both groups helping clients in 4 continents.
He has been involved in teaching for over 18 years in University and business schools on topics like crisis management, strategic communications and reputation. Author of “Estamos en crisis” (2003), reference book on crisis management communication.
